Now if you are reading this post, then you have read “How To Most Effectively Climb The Search Engines Part I.”  I am saying this, and not asking.  Do not read this post until you have read the first one or else you’re going to think I’m a crazy person just talking about competition.  So if you still haven’t gone back  to the first post then I can assume that you have already read it.  But last chance just in case.

Ok, so now you are going to get to the meat.  In the first post of this series, I told you that you need to define a competitor so that you can beat them.  However, I did not tell you how to go about doing that.  The reason I withheld that information is because you almost certainly picked the wrong competition!!!

That’s right, I have no idea who you are, or what niche you’re in but I can almost assure you that you picked the wrong competition.  I’m sure that you picked the website that was at the top of the Google rankings for you keyword, but that is absolutely, unequivocally, WRONG!!

In the last post, I said that nothing motivated you more than an ass in your face, and I meant an ass that was RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE!  Not the ass that was already at the top of the mountain!  The problem with picking the top ranking website is that there are too many variables between your site and theirs, so you won’t know what to fix and what to keep.

In order to make the most effective changes to your website, you must find the website right above you, and make the changes that are necessary to get ahead of them!

I’m sure that your mouth is just watering as you think about the great tips that you are about to learn, but it’s gonna have to wait because you will learn these tips in a few of the upcoming series posts.  Until then, get back to the drawing board and redefine your competitor!!!!

How To Most Effectively Climb The Search Engine Rankings Part I

It can be scary trying to get to the top!

While countless people work tirelessly to create a high-quality website that is packed full of information, the number of successful webmasters could probably be counted between my hands and feet.  I have always studied internet marketing, and when it comes to the “path to success,” I have read so many conflicting ideas that if I tried to follow them individually I would be so stressed out that I would kill myself.

But there must be some similarity, some common ground, between the paths that these successful internet marketers to reach the top of their respective niches.  But they would NEVER share that with you, because then you will come and take their spot at the top.  You must be left in the dark, or else they risk loosing a lot of money to the newbie entrepreneur.

So, what you need to learn from this little story here is that you are in a shark tank, and the only way to survive is to dominate.  Do not try to just “get by,” or you will be tossed aside so quickly that your head will spin.  In more condensed terms, you need to:

FIND A COMPETITOR, AND BEAT THEM!!

Now this may seem a bit extreme, “Why can’t we all just get along?” is what you might say, but the fact about business is that if you’re not moving up, you’re falling behind.  And the most effective driving force (im gonna stick with the rock climbing metaphors here) is an ass in your face.

If you want to become wildly successful, and do it in the shortest amount of time possible, then you need to define your competitor, and beat them.

Most Simple Way To Ensure Better Search Engine Rankings!

Now I don’t know if you know my motto about internet marketing, but I believe that it is very simple, it is NOT EASY, but it IS simple.  I know how you feel if you are reading this post, you work so hard, spending all of your time writing quality posts about whatever your niche is, but it gets you no extra traffic.

You spend hours on end doing keyword research, and by some miracle you find a good one that has that magical combination of low traffic and high searches.  The problem is that you STILL aren’t ranking high up in the search engines.   Trust me, I have been there and it completely and utterly sucks!

So, I made a pretty lofty promise when I said that you can ENSURE better SEO rankings, and this is true.  The way that you are ranking as of now can easily be improved.

JUST WRITE A LIST OF YOUR KEYWORDS!!

This is a very simple thing that you have to do before you even being to write a post, guest post, blog or forum comment.  Physically write a list of keywords, and then also write synonyms of the keywords.  It is not enough to do what you normally do; to know what your keyWORD (1 word) is and then try to throw it into your post as much as possible without making sound like a bunch of garbage.

I need you to write a list of at least 5 keywords, and then use them in your posts where you see fit.  It is such a simple thing to do and it will definitely improve your Search Engine Rankings because now you have a larger number of more relevant keywords that you can add to create even more relevant content.

It really is a simple thing that I highly recommend you to do.  Do not just gloss over it because it seems so simple that it can’t work, because that is completely wrong.  Some of the best creations of all of humanity were simple and quick fixes, so don’t miss out on this easy SEO tip or you will regret it when you see your website fall all the way back to “E” page in GOOGLE.

How To Title Your Post Pages

I understand the pain that you may have because you can’t seem to drive any traffic to your website.  The days of “build your website and they will come” is long over my friend.  But you have worked hard to put good quality information on your website and nobody is going to get to read it.  So how can you help get your website noticed?

OPTIMIZE YOUR POST PAGES!

It is a very simple and easy thing to do, as all that you have to do is change the permalink that links to the individual post.  Many internet marketers have a problem with this, as they just title it SEO1, SEO2, or something along those lines.  While that may help you keep the posts organized by what order you wrote them in, it will not help you get noticed in the search engines.

I previously wrote an article on long tail keywords (wrote it earlier today), and this post is really just an extension on that idea.  If you write tag your post pages well then that will help them get ranked a lot higher strictly through the SEO.

And the best part is that labeling your post pages’ permalinks with a high quality title is very easy, as all you have to do is summarize your post.  Come up with a 3-6 word long phrase that really summarizes what you had to say in the post, and you will see these posts (and soon your whole website) ranking higher in Google, Yahoo, Bing, and all the other search engines!

What Keywords Should You Be Focusing On?

It is undoubtedly the hardest part of internet marketing that you will EVER have to deal with.  You have to take hours, if not days searching to find the perfect keyword before you can even begin to try to make money from it.  This is a huge problem for all online marketers at one time or another, because they just can’t seem to find a great keyword that is worth their time.

While this is a basic tip, it is one that I must say:

IT’S ALL ABOUT THOSE LONG TAIL KEYWORDS!

If you pick a short keyword because it gets a million searches a day, then you WILL waste all of your time and get ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE!  I can’t stress that enough, unless you’re Google itself, you cannot just pick a high traffic keyword and jump to the first page without years of diligent work.  It is not worth it.

Good keyword research, and then the resulting SEO is all about optimizing for the long keywords and making the most from that traffic.  Even I have done this with the long tail keyword “get paid over the internet.”  It is a highly searched keyword, but it does not have all the competition that “online marketing” or “work from home” would have.

The true key to making money online, in any timeframe that would even resemble quick, is optimizing your site for the long and specific keywords that highly motivated buyers type in to their search engines.  So get to workin’, because it is a long road ahead.

The #1 Secret To Building A Big Email List!

Now by now I am sure that you understand that the real money in internet marketing is in your email list of potential customers, prompting the very popular saying (amongst internet marketers), “The money is in the list.”  You know that if you were only able to compile a list of interested customers, you wouldn’t have to worry anymore, because you would finally have a stable source of residual income from a responsive list.  But there seems to be one problem:

YOU DON’T HAVE A LIST!!

Luckily, you can easily fix this problem.  And the best part, is that you can fix this problem VERY VERY FAST!  How you may ask?  That is always the underlying question, and it is a very simple answer.  If you want to have a large email list, then all you have to do is follow in the timeless words of the great Tony Robbins, “ASK!”

To further elaborate on the idea of asking for a big email list, I will throw in the term solo ads.  A solo ad is a contract between two people, where a marketer pays a person with an email list so that they can broadcast emails that lead back to their sqeeze page to the readers.  If that buyer has a properly converting squeeze page then they can quickly build an email list with this tool.

It is incredibly powerful, and for all of the super affiliates out there, it is how they made their fortunes.  So I might take some heat for giving away these guys’ most powerful money making strategy, but this technique only works if you actually DO IT!  Reading about it, and knowing how to do it won’t make you ANY money; you have to start doing it RIGHT NOW!

How To Make Sure That You Get White Listed

So you spend all of this time writing out carefully planned emails that will definitely get you good money, and you have a nice sized email list to send it out to.  So you begin your campaign, and then see how much money you made for the day. $10

That’s it!?!  All of that work, and only $10.  What happened?  How can you stop it if you can?  **(you can)

This one is simple.  You didn’t make any money because you got sent to the spam folder.  That is every email marketer’s worst nightmare.  If you get sent to the spam folder, then the email providers are now saying that it was a nice try and a valiant effort, but you won’t be making any money today.  Or in the near future for that matter.

So what do you do to stop it?  You get in people’s contact list!!

To answer that question, I am also going to tell you a tip that the world famous TONY ROBBINS said is the most powerful secret that will give you fame, fortune, and happines.  YOU JUST ASK!!

That’s right, if you want to get in people’s contact list (white list) then all that you need to do is ask.  But I don’t mean ask once.  No, you are a lot more clever than that.  You will ask them to add you to their contact list at the bottom of every single email.

And that is all that you have to do.  Steadily you will see that your email marketing is bringing you more and more money, even though you may not be getting any extra subscribers, and it is all because you have a lot more people that are available to read your emails.

So do it now.  Go to your autoresponder, and edit all of your emails so that they all say the same thing.  Something along the lines of this:

“I hope that you have learned a lot from this email, and I know that you will continue to learn a lot from those coming in the future.  But that might not happen I get placed in your spam folder.  Add me to your contacts list and keep me out of the DREADED SPAM FOLDER!! (its dark in there)

How To Get More Click-Throughs On Your Emails

Many people have a problem when it comes to writing emails to their email lists that constantly get a high click through rate.  Well, the way to increase this rate is to follow my motto that “Internet Marketing Is Simple,” it’s not easy but it is simple.

Think about your emails from the eyes of one of your subscribers.  Was this is an email that was sent as a tip?  Was this email was sent as a promotional email?  What would you write so that your subscribers saw it and immediately responded in the manner that you wanted them to.

Well, I will address both shortly.

INFORMATIVE EMAILS

If you send out emails to your list, and it was meant to be a tip, then GIVE THEM A TIP! Don’t give them half of a tip, and then tell them that if they want the real secrets that they only have to pay $9.95 or whatever you charge.  If you do this you will see a massive increase in your unsubscribe rate, and you will also see a very unresponsive list.

If you signed up to get more information about whatever you niche is, then you would want actual information on that topic; so give it to them!  When you do this, not only do you create a more responsive list, but you also help to brand yourself as a reliable source of information.  In these emails, all that you want to do is include a link to a Facebook or Twitter fan page, or another page on your blog.  These are not the emails that make you money, they just set you up for a bigger payday!

PROMOTIONAL EMAILS

My personal opinion on these is that you should not send out more than 1 a month, unless you see some great product that your list really needs to buy RIGHT NOW!  However, if you want to get a higher click through rate on these promotional emails (the ones that actually make you money), then you should send out nice short emails.

All you have to do is create a nice headline that draws interest, and write a short promo email.  When I mean short, I mean 4-5 lines MAXIMUM!!  Then make a big and obvious link, and I mean SUPER OBVIOUS!!!!  It is not your job to sell them the product, these guys have spent thousands for professional copywriters to do that.  All that you have to do is get enough interest in them so that they click on the link.

So remember, when you want to increase click through rates, then you have to know what type of email it is.  If it is an informative email, then you need to INFORM them of something.  If it is a promotional email, then just build interest and have a really apparent link.  Do these things, and you will have no problem increasing your email click through rates.

It seems like there are all of these internet marketing millionaires out there that are becoming so successful just working from home, and you are left out.  They sell you junk ebooks, ecourses, and software and it is all just one dissappointment after another.

          1. Create A Website.

If you hope to make an anual income that surpasses that of the regular 9 to 5, then you need your own website.  People go on the internet for INFORMATION, so you need a website so that you can give it to them.  When you have your own website, you now have some accountability.  You have roots online that people can trace back, so you are automatically a more trustworthy person.  What happens when you’re trustworthy, your readers will come back to your site first whenever they need information on your area of expertise.

You must place unique content on your site or else you have NO SHOT at getting ranked highly on Google for any keywords.  In order to make money online, you have to create a website that shows that you care about the people that read.  Through what you write and give away, you should show your readers that their success is your success.

Once you have created a website, and added a way to monetize it, the next thing that you should do is sign up to an autoresponder and then place the opt in form on your web page.  If continue to provide your readers with good quality information, then you will have absolutely no problem creating an email list of highly motivated buyers.

          3. Outsource

As hard as it may be to believe, you are not Superman (or Superwoman).  Eventually the demands of your rapidly progressing online business will overtake the amount of hours that you have in the day.  Between emailing your subscribers content that they find useful, updating your website at least twice a week, reviewing new products, advertising your website, tracking your sales and purchases, and cashing all of those checks you’re getting, you will run yourself into the ground if you try to do it all yourself.

As a responsible business person, you must outsource at least a few of these jobs to other companies so that you can continue to make money, and give your readers everything that they need.

These are the steps that you must do if you want to make a living online.  It’s not complicated, it just takes work, and the problem is that most people either don’t have the work ethic or the patients to stick with it.

Since you’ve read all the way down to the bottom here, I know that you’re smarter than the average weekend warrior internet marketer.  You are willing to put in the work to make your dreams come true, but as of right now, that’s all just speculation.
